A quart of oil, can of PB Blaster, can of ether,( not in the passenger compartment) basic hand tools, wrenches screwdrivers test light ECT, a couple jumper wires, wire nuts, flash lights, a tail and head light bulb, hand crank, bottle jack, blocks for said jack, lug wrench, points/condenser, a couple clean spark plugs, hose clamps, fan belt, carb kit, a pry bar suitable for rotating the engine backwards when the starter binds up, tow strap, a junk blanket to lay on or warmth, a set of channel locks that fit the water pump, a camping shovel, and a roll of paper towels.

And above all else in importance, GOOD pliars and bailing wire.

First aid kit ain't a bad idea either.
