I have Tupperware containers with water, cotton and peppermint oil (a good amount). The lids have holes. I place them inside the cars and no mice poop inside or around the cars.

I have a big barn with space for 3 cars. It is impossible to avoid mice inside the barn in winter. But at least they do not go inside the cars or around them.
