Patrick, does your car have windshield washers? Sometime during its life, all of my components had been removed, but the nozzles were still in place on the cowl, below the windshield. After looking at numerous photos and talking to other owners, I determined that the single hole in that location in my 55's firewall accommodates the windshield-washer pump; it's the right size and correct location.
