Either the master cylinder is not letting the pressure off the system or the brake light switch isn't opening the circuit when the pressure drops. I've had problems with both but the clogged up return port in the master cylinder usually becomes apparent when the car starts to drag the brakes in operation. The car should roll easily when the pressure drops. Some new brake light switches are likely crap but I can't tell you where to get the most reliable type now days. Too much water under the bridge since that last time I had a problem with one. I'd look for NAPA Echlin for a first shot.
