No, the ammeter is out of the circuit as described here.
Also, if the fuse blows for the generator, then it is no longer connected to the battery and will be putting out high voltage internally and burn itself out.
Some of the other makes of cars had a fuse in the field of the generator to protect it from burning itself up.
