With gravity feed I found vapor lock hard to believe until it happened to my friends and then to me in our Model A's. Best to use the good gas without corn crap, but even that isn't as good as what we had in the 60's. 4 ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil per 10 gallons of gas is also very helpful.
On hot days and short stops, my Model A will boil the gas in the carb very easily.
