I made up a tool last week for a fellow who is new to flatheads but good with his hands.I had done some guide and seat work for him.Made him the tool as a gift for his generosity at time of payment. Also made up a simple cam turning tool used when crank is not in.
It will take some of the difficulty out of setting valves and swearing with adjustable lifters. He has already done a pre set with it,with only the cam in the block and only valves and guides no springs, and reported it was pretty cool. Was quick.
The wrench head head has 1/2" radius and falls into lifter bore to aid in keeping the wrench from slipping no need to have at an angle.Head was cut off machined 1" bore size and tigged back on at a new location.Works quite easily with drilled lifter bores. Also used an 11mm wrench as it fit the adjuster better than a 7/16". Don't copy as this is patented.(LOL) Could be made up by the average builder with some skills.
