I have seen this illustration, but I didn't notice where it says "Remove and discard the oil seal." I still can't figure out what the felt washers in the gasket kit are for. I seem to have ordered two kits in the past, but so long ago I can't find the invoice and don't know where they came from. One supplier shows a kit that has the paper gaskets and one that looks like the oil seal I removed. I'm guessing I will put everything back together without the added oil seal and just seal the threads on the new oil seal retainer with the tube.
