You are right Bill. And the person who did the caption on that photo was wrong. Like so many others who seem to think Meteor and Mercury go together. True enough a couple of years later the dealerships were Lincoln/Mercury/Meteor. But in 1946-47 Meteor was just a dream in Ford's future. I have just been involved in a long and tedious discussion on a facebook group trying to explain it to some who are convinced Mercury Meteor is a brand. Or a Meteor is a "Canadian Ford" . That just implies that we didn't have Fords here, just Meteors. (We had both) I get a little tired of going over it again and again but the question keeps coming up.
