I'm actually looking for clear lenses. I don't like the amber that much.

Measuring that is the problem with the matter. The headlight, where the lamp should go in, has an inner diameter of 144mm at the narrowest point. (Measured with a vernier caliper) My 12V headlight insert that I have here has an outer diameter of 140mm (Absolutely!)

...added to my confusion! One speaks of 5 1/2 inches, and once of 5 3/4 inches.

When I look at THIS website ...

...then again we are talking about 5 3/4 inches, and the description says diameter 146mm! But I only have 144mm! Is there a tolerance or not? Where are the calculated 2mm that the lamp insert would be too big? All things that do not help to unravel.

I didn't know the size designation "PAR 46" before. Thanks for the explanation. Then I can look in that direction too.

Another question: "Passing" is written on many lenses. Mine says "Fog". What is the difference between these lamps? Are the fog lamps particularly wide?

Greetings from Berlin
