Not sure if the 49 has the on/off switch but Before you turn the car "on" give it a few cranks of the starter. This will get gas to/in the carb if it is empty for whatever reason. Then flip the switch on and touch it off. Good to go. I have to start my 41 like that if it sits for a few weeks.
