you will need to reduce from the 1/4" Ford brake line to go into the 3/16" fittings on the modern dual master anyway.

The main purpose of drum brake residuals is to prevent air from entering past the wheel cylinder cups during fast release. They were used on all drum brakes up to the mid '70s,
including '40 Fords.
