Over on the HAMB we had a "discussion" about how much cornhead grease was appropriate in these old Ford boxes. I was of the school that fill it up to the plug was good. Others said fill it halfway to allow some expansion room.

I'd think if a guy was to install a zerk and kept filling til he couldn't anymore, he may blow it up through the top bearing and begin filling his column tube too.
