So are you just asking about the coil performance, or do you have the Petronics unit as well? When I bought my '46 Coupe a few years ago, I thought I would go with the electronic ignition. After reading numerous posts on this site as well as the EFV8 site, I decided to stay with the stock setup. I put on a Skip coil and a Bubba rebuilt distributor, and in the three years since startup, the engine starts and runs like Ford built it. When warm, it starts with a touch of the starter button, and has never failed to start.
