If you're going to back up to a CD buy archival gold CDs. It's a fact that cheap CDs can begin loosing data in as little as two years. Archival gold are tested to hold data for 50+ years. Some up to 300 years. Yes, they'll cost $4 or $5 buck each but that's pretty cheap insurance.
