How intriguing Sheldon, so the one piece stainless outer band has a step edge? Hard to photograph but my ones have a stainless edge much like the normal reproduction inserts as pics below. The grime between the bars and reflections in the stainless in my pics gives the appearance of a step but there isn't one, wraps around smoothly...
