I have had rattles kind of like that just due to engine vibration at certain speeds. I have changed and tightened a bunch of things on the body to get rid of it. This was a model A although, they had more resonant frequencies inherent. I could feel it when I once had a rear main knock. Bad rods usually knock when decelerating.
