The chassis has mounts set up for the 8RT. I suppose the flanges on the earlier pumps being lower wouldn't be the end of the world in this case as the transmission is a T5 and not a stock mount type. Might be enough to cause a firewall clearance issue, though, due to the tilt that would be induced.

Not a big deal at all. Easy enough to make spacers if you need it up higher. If you need it lower, a trick is to use '49-'50 Merc pumps. The mounting arm sits the motor lower than the 8BA/8RT pumps.
