Tomato/Tomoto. Here on the Southside of Chicago we Southside Irish call them Paddy Wagons. After all, Padraig is Gaelic for Patrick, so it can work both ways. Most of the PD's out here call them Paddy Wagons as well even the modern Ford and Chevy versions.
I go off the belief that they are so named because Police Dept's back then were predominately Irish.
Maybe it be best if we just refer to them like Ford did in late '31, Police Patrols.
