Its always easier to work on an engine when its out of the car. especially if its a rod, wrist pin, or babbit problem. You can always just pull head and the pan to pull out a piston and rod, but its less work on you back if you just pull it out. It's not hard to pull, hell you could do it durring the commercial breaks on dancing with the stars
. With an engine hoist, and all the tools needed, like some form of an engine puller, it shouldnt take more than 2 hours with the help of a friend. I counted the bolts one time, and i beleive its only like 24 bolts to take out. Thats including everything, but floorboards.
