Mn1949ford, I really don't think the two are related. I've been having the issue you mention for years.

I just got curious and tested and it happens the same way if I use Chrome or the Samsung Internet app on my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) and Chrome on a tablet (a Samsung Galaxy Tab A).

The issue, for those wondering, when you click the search button, a search box appears but not the keyboard, when you tap the search box to bring up the keyboard, it opens and immediately closes without allowing text to be entered in the search box. I won't venture if it's a website issue, or a device issue, and I won't be surprised when someone else reports it works with their phone.
