When I changed to the newer style brakes on my '46, two of the "catches" were installed upside down at some time. There is a bit of a reservoir in the bottom section to catch any leakage that would get on the brakes.

When the mechanic installed the New Boling Bros Brakes, he didnt refit the ''catch pits'', I think I will put them on!!
