I agree about the use of a push in probe. I had one fail on a road trip and ended up having to do surgery and bypass the sensor to get back home. I subsequently wired an On/Off toggle switch in the fan motor electrical loop. This hotronics sensor looks to be a good solution but I would still put a toggle switch in the loop just in case.
