On my Cousin's farm, he had a 1936 B JD, bought new in 36 for $906.50 with a small 3 bottom 12" plow and a cultivator. It had spoke wheels and rubber tires. President Roosevelt said "Go out and buy something, get the economy moving again!" So When his old Fordson caught fire and burned a couple of fields, He got the JD. The Fordson caught fire because the exhaust ran horiziontally under the tractor and the dust from his bailing machine was allowed to gather on the hot exhaust. This set the fields on fire. He was sold on the JD's vertical exhaust after that. We sold his two JDs in 1989, The B and a 600 (IIRC) still running and working
