The '34 arm is longer and angled outward, whereas the 35-38 arm is a straight 90 angle to the clutch shaft. If your clutch linkage is still the stock 34 type you should swap the arms.
The pins that secure the arm to the shaft can be tight and are swedged into place. Sometimes you can grind off the head of the pin and then drive it out. Occasionally the pin is so tight that you have to drill it out. It's easier to do this with the shaft out of the transmission and in a bench vise. Also less chance of damage to the gearbox casting when you're applying the force of the BFH and a dose of frustration.
