The smaller end of the filter measures just about 4.75 inches in diameter; the larger one clocks in at 6 inches. The whole assembly measures about 6.25 inches high BUT you have to cut the rubber adapter off the filter so it fits in the assembly (see picture below). I used a utility knife to do this and simply cut it off at the base of the filter element. With a sharp blade it cuts like butter. With the adapter portion removed it measures about 4.625 (4 5/8) inches high.
