I bought my barrel nose '39 when I sold my '40 1 1/2 ton flatbed. I wanted a p/u for its drivability over the flatbed. I wasn't initially sold on the looks of a barrel nose but now I wouldn't have anything else. '39 was the first year of hydraulic brakes which is definitely a plus. Another plus in my books is that it isn't a '40/'41. Not that there is anything wrong with them its just seems as if everyone has one or wants one.
