The Bosch "Blue" coil is nominally 3 ohms, one thing I can't figure out is why Bubba doesn't recommend a coil closer to the OEM value when used with points & switched ballast. Ford used (about) 1.4 ohm coils with an external ballast resistor for many years in 12 volt systems. So for these applications, it would seem like the Bosch "Red" coil of 1.8 ohms would be the logical choice?
