Return would be metal. Those switches under the dash are not SW. The SW heater works by pulling out the button on its face. That activates a bimetal switch to turn on a glow plug in the heater and opens the flow of gas. Once the heater lights off and reaches operating temp, a fan turns on and the glow plug turns off.
