On the distributor, you should think about replacing the condenser at the very least - they tend to go bad after a lot of years. On our V8 distributors and Harman-Collins dual-coils, I use Vertex magneto condensers - about the only high-quality condensers I can find these days. But, there may be other options . . . somebody posted that Mike at Third-Gen has found a decent supplier.
