Default Re: Jumping a 6 volt battery

I learned my lesson back 50 some years ago. I jumped a 48 ford pickup that was 6 volt from a 56 ford 1 1/2 ton truck that was 12 volts. started 48 and got out to unhook jumpers and I think steam from the battery caps was coming out and the spark ignited the gas. It was at night and all I remember was a loud explosion and battery parts and pieces and acid all over me and everything. Lucky my arm took the bulk of the explosion and not my eyes. I'll never do that again.
