Default Re: corn based gasoline

Politics and BS aside ethanol fuel can be a disaster for any vehicle that is (A)old enough to not have ethanol proof fuel system components, and/or (B) sits for more than a week or two on a regular basis. Now, based on those criteria I figure that would be darn near every one of us. Where I live (in the big city) there is no non ethanol less than 25 miles from my home. I go buy it filling up 4 5 gallon cans at a time. I run it in my lawn mowers, chain saws, leaf blowers, motorcycles (5 of them), boat motors, and God knows what all else. It is not however possible to use it in my Model A and '48 Willys Jeep. In those two I always, and I mean always run an additive (Sea Foam). I have seen a lot of very expensive damage done to engines and fuel systems by ethanol. Using Sea Foam, going back 'till ethanol first arrived, I have not had a single problem. I might add that I run Sea Foam in all the above equipment as well because they can sit for extended periods.
