Original Ford A axle should have a 31-1/2" spring eye centerline.

29", 30", & 31" springs are made for aftermarket axles with narrower spring perch centers.

I've put 31" springs on stock width '28-'36 axles; not sure how a 30" would work but I imagine a 29" spring would be stretched out pretty flat.

I would believe the ride quality would drop with the spring spread out of it's design parameters.

If you want a low good riding spring on a stock axle, a Posies 1001L would be a good choice.
