Any Dana 44 will work fine behind a T5. The jeep Cherokee is a good width but you have to relocate the spring perches. With 3.70 gears my T5 cruises at 2050 RPM at 70 MPH.

The offset yoke on any open driveline is giong to make the shaft "close" to the side of the floor tunnel near the rear. I had custom springs made to hang off Ford Ranger hangers that bolt to the frame rails. Then welded some extension to the plate that goes under the springs to mount the shocks.
