On drilling a bolt...can be easy if you have a drill press. Clamp on a block of wood, drill a hole that is tight on the chosen bolt. Use a longer than needed bolt with head cut off, put it in hole in wood, hold protruding end with vise grips to keep it from rotating under the drill. Drillandtap, cut to length, done.
