Very observant! Yes, only one bolt goes all the way into the D nuts in the grille itself. There are recesses in the grille perimeter to clear the heads of the other two fasteners per side.


Not attached below because they exceed the site's pixel limits are photos of an example of the '33 lower radiator apron (with surface rust) that shows up in my photo above. The tired black one in the photo is the '34 version for comparison. The '33 version has two D nuts on each upper rear corner for the attachment of the front of the inner fenders; the '34 has but a single hole for that purpose and no D nuts. The radiator sits on top of this apron, the bottom of which rests on top of the front cross member where the radiator is attached.
