I'm planning to make the metal panels very similar to the original if I can but, from what I've seen, these panels have the fabric just glued directly to them. That makes me think a standard panel clip will produce a very obvious 'print through' the fabric.

Are those original clips supposed to prevent this by their design somehow? Or is there some sort of pocket in the metal for the clips?
