I agree that the glass bowl carb is the one to use. I have an old Holley manual and specs book. It lists the 1952 thru 1956 215 and 223 6 cyl.glass bowl holley's as having a #66 main jet. It lists two different glass bowl carbs for the 1957 223. One is #68 and one is #69 main jet. It sounds like you may have a carb earlier than 1957, which is good too. Just stick with the main jet that is in it now, and check the plugs and performance.
You may be able to see the part number of you're carb stamped on a small flat surface next to the fuel inlet fitting.
