Default Dry Run up Mt. Baker

Our local club is holding a tour up Mt. Baker Highway (NW Washington State) to the end of the road at Artists Point on August 9th. The climb is from sea level to about 5,000' in 45 miles or so. The last stretch of the road was finally cleared of snow on June 29th, so a few of us decided to give it a go in advance of the tour.

Back in the day, it was a common destination for Model As and similar vintage cars...

The highway is actually paved now so it was a piece of cake. We started at the August 9 tour rendezvous point...

...and stopped several places on the way to the top to check out picnic sites and other attractions...

...and made it to Artists Point...

No drama on the trip down. Brakes stayed cool and no fade. We're ready for the tour!

Here's a link to the tour flyer...
