Do not panic.
before you worry about a rebuild,
check the main bearing clearances- too much on the rear lets oil out.
then you can get the new pan gasket instsalled.

Go-no-go method with aluminum foil works better and easier than Plastigauge for bearing clearance. (check the rods too!)

Restorer magazine Mar/Apr 2002, pages 16-18 has the ultimate procedure for leak-free pan gasket install
