Hi there, Your oblong shape cut out was a standard type on many American cars and trucks of the twenties and thirties. Delco Remy and many other electrical companies made them but it was not a Ford original part. All ford cut outs were round in shape from the model T to 1939. Yours is just an aftermarket replacement. That broken field brush wire needs to be a very flexible cable so that it moves with the brush. Ordinary automotive cable or a single strand field winding wire will not do the job. Regards, Kevin.
