You have to stand on your head while working on these, Joe. The "89" is actually "68". This is a slightly shorter and slower curve than the 11A used in the late 1936 Model 68 distributor and all '37-40 78 distributors. 11A advance went into the otherwise same 78 distributor for 1941, and with its parts on a shorter shaft kept 1942--48. The number on casting is likely a mold number or such.
If distributor looks same as Bubba's, it would be a model 78, 1937--40.
