Default Re: Electric wiper motor for 36 pickup

Bill, I have used Specialty on a couple of different '36 projects. (found out from searching HAMB site that Specialty may have gotten the idea from English folks about using the cable system.) On the '36 sedan I built with Specialty wipers, I got the aluminum tube to bend up the right side OK with no problems. On my '36 pickup, I could not get the alum. tube to bend right. I wound up using plastic tubing from Home Depot to route the cable. Well, Ok, 'cept the plastic tubing flexes and the wipers wind up wandering. I had to put stops on the arms to keep them in the wipe arena. Problem is the wind at speed really kicks the hell out of the arms to make them wander. Now, really, how many of us drive the old cars in adverse conditions. You have to weigh the alternatives. Hope this helps.
