In a recent gas gauge discussion it was suggested to use two brass rings as the threads were bottoming out. https://www.brattons.com/brass-gas-g...ng-washer.html

Also some of the cheap aluminum "wrenches" don't fit well and make it difficult to tighten. I use this wrench set from Bratton's https://www.brattons.com/gas-gauge-tool.html and the holder https://www.brattons.com/gas-gauge-wrench-holder.html also from Bratton's without any issues. I use the cork gasket set and no sealant.
