Many early cars had the steering boxes replaced with the later 2 tooth versions. Difficult to rebuild but worth it. You have to remove it from the car. As Jackson said, the center of the worm gear, where the tooth sits during most of the driving, gets most of the wear. This makes it impossible to adjust without binding at the ends.

Another option is to replace it with an F-100 steering box. That box is easier to steer and make it seem like the A almost has power steering.
