Photos are a good thing for identification. The lightly arched side windows were definitely a characteristic of the Murray bodies. Straight top side windows were all Briggs characteristics. All knowledge that is good toward getting one of these cars correct.
This is on a 1930 but the bodies are a lot alike.

There are metal pieces that cover the area and those can be seen in the photos. They have three holes in the photos. The wood was likely replaced at some point and just not finished.
