Krone & Sebek made cheap mascots with a lower level of detail. I think the mascot is genuine, but I also think that the price is double what others I have been looking at on eBay have sold for! The plane with light-up windows has been reproduced in cast aluminum but the pot metal ones are generally originals due to the cost of reproducing them that way. I would think that if you wanted one to use on a car that the originals may be more brittle and a new one would be more desirable... my opinion only, and may not be worth th $.02
