I have found in a couple of vehicles, the lack of that baffle caused the oil pick up to starve on hard cornering and up steep (long) hills. You can weld a baffle of sorts back in your pan. If you have the more modern oil pump (most likely) you'll find that you can put two separate pieces (one on each side of the pick up) - I'd make them about 2" tall and leave about 1/8" open at the bottom of the pan.
