Don and Michael,

With respect, which came first, the dip in the body or the dip in the running board? In other words, which is the chicken and which is the egg? Think about it. Maybe it wasn't the running board given that Ford's design intent was NOT to make its cars last 80 years. That would be commercial suicide.
