The Pertronix epoxy-filled coil arrived yesterday and is now installed, and the car runs great.

The coil I swapped out was a Ford-script reproduction - looked almost exactly like an original SP coil except the screw terminals are straight not slanted. It is an oil filled coil.....so why would it be sold without a warning to not install upside down ??

I plan to carry the original tar-filled SP coil I have as a spare - not the modern repro.
